Woodland Financial Partners Awarded Grant From WEDC

Keshena, Wis.- Woodland Financial Partners (WFP) has been awarded $110,500 through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation’s (WEDC) Small Business Technical Assistance (SBTA) program to expand support for Native entrepreneurs and agricultural producers across Wisconsin.

The SBT A – Expanding Capital Access to Native Entrepreneurs and Native Agricultural Producers initiative is a two-year effort providing technical assistance in business planning, cash flow and budgeting, FSA application support, and management training. The initiative will strengthen business capacity, promote innovation, and expand wealth-building opportunities for Wisconsin Tribal growers, producers, fishermen, harvesters, and entrepreneurs.

Through partnerships with tribal organizations, CDFls, and local community banks, WFP will provide group trainings and one-on-one technical assistance. WFP will also develop tree, accessible business resources on its website, helping Native entrepreneurs and producers access valuable tools and information wherever they are.

“WFP is honored to have been awarded the WEDC SBT A grant to support Wisconsin tribal agricultural producers and entrepreneurs,” said Allyssa Verstoppen, Executive Director of WFP. “This WEDC funding enables WFP to further reach tribal agricultural producers, provide essential business technical assistance and loan readiness, and further expand the tribal economic ecosystem.”

WFP is grateful for this investment and the opportunity to further its mission of expanding access to capital, financing, and development services for Native American entrepreneurs and small business owners statewide. Grants and philanthropic support are essential to helping WFP reach more clients, strengthen Native-owned businesses, and create lasting economic opportunities in Native communities.

WFP is a U.S. Treasury Certified Community Development Financial Institution and nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. WFP welcomes donors who want to support efforts that help clients achieve greater financial independence and long-term sustainability.
